ABOUT
After graduating from Kutztown University, I started my design/illustration career with the Lancaster New Era, daily newspaper. I was the very first editorial artist for that newspaper. I was responsible for maps, charts, illustrations, cartoons, and some special feature page design.
I went to work at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts as a Senior Designer in the creative services department after 12 years. At Hershey I was responsible for designing many of the marketing materials for the company. I designed many logos at Hersheypark and other company businesses. You may see StormRunner, Lightning Racer, Fahrenheit, The Boardwalk, Wild Mouse and other logos I’ve designed when visiting the amusement park. Around town, you will see the logos of Hershey Lodge, Hershey Theatre, Hershey Press Building, The GIANT Center, ZooAmerica and others.
I left HE&R after 14 years and went on to start my own company, Penny Lane Graphics. Some of the clients I have done work for include: The East Coast Music Hall of Fame, Discovery Channel, The Oakland Raiders, NBA star Jason Kidd, Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, Lititz Springs Park, Pullo Center, Penn State University and many more. I draw a weekly cartoon for the Lititz Record weekly newspaper. I have written and illustrated a couple children’s books. I also teach at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design in Lancaster, PA. I teach a number of classes in the graphic design and illustration departments. I teach the Adobe Creative Cloud applications as well as other design programs. I have been an instructor at the college for the past 12 years. I started the college in-house student-run “The Agency” which designs pieces for the college and local non-profits.
When I’m not working I am cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles, Penn State Nittany Lions and our local high school football team, where I am the PA announcer for the Friday Night home games. I paint watercolors of local places of interest. I play a little Texas Hold-Em and Bocce in my community.
